Having An Emergency?

If you’re reading this because something is wrong right now, stop reading and call (732) 228-2243. We’ll talk you through making the situation safe, then get someone to your door.
When your panel is sparking, your outlets are smoking, or half your house just lost power at 2 AM, you don’t have time to wait until Monday morning. CAM Electrical Services runs a genuine 24/7 emergency line for Brick Township, Toms River, Point Pleasant, Lakewood, Jackson, and every town across Ocean County. With full licensing #34EB01136500, Chris our owner answers emergency calls personally and has a licensed electrician dispatched in under an hour for most of the service area.
Not every electrical problem needs a middle-of-the-night response. But some do, and knowing the difference can mean the difference between a $400 repair and a house fire. Here’s when you should stop what you’re doing and call an emergency electrician
This is the single most urgent electrical call we get. A burning plastic smell means wires are overheating, insulation is melting, and the system is actively on its way to ignition. Unplug whatever you can safely reach, flip the breaker if you can identify it, and call us. Do not try to open the panel yourself.
A small spark when you plug something in can be normal. Visible arcing, repeated sparks, or a popping sound when you flip a switch is not. Arcing is how electrical fires start.
Electricity doesn't make things warm when it's working correctly. A warm outlet means current is flowing where it shouldn't be, usually through a loose or damaged connection. A discolored or browned plate means it's been happening long enough to scorch the plastic.
If half your house has power and the other half doesn't, and your neighbors are fine, the problem is inside your panel or your main service. This usually means a failed main breaker, a damaged service entrance cable, or a loose neutral connection, and all three can cause serious damage to appliances and electronics if left running.
Our technicians are quick to respond, and when your having an emergency that is exactly what you want when hiring an electrician.

Emergency Calls We Handle

Emergency calls aren’t limited to one or two issues. Our trucks arrive stocked for the full range of problems that actually come up at odd hours.
Partial or full power loss caused by breaker failure, panel failure, bad connections, damaged service entrance cable, or blown fuses. We trace the issue, isolate the fault, and get your home powered safely.
Tripping breakers, overheating breakers, burned bus bars, and loose connections that need immediate attention. For panels beyond repair, we can get you through the night on emergency circuits and schedule a proper panel replacement for the next day.
Downed service lines, damaged weatherheads and masts, water intrusion into the panel, and grounding system damage after lightning strikes. We see a lot of this between nor'easters and summer thunderstorms
Any situation where heat damage or animal damage has exposed live wiring needs to be made safe before you can use the circuit again.

Working For Our Customers Since 2023

Our Emergency Response Process

When you call us, you don’t get an out-of-state operator, you get our owner Chris personally, and we follow a strict procedure to get you help as fast as possible.
Chris or one of our licensed electricians answers and asks what's happening. If the situation is actively dangerous, the first job is walking you through making it safe, shutting off the right breaker, unplugging the right device, or cutting main power.
We confirm your address, the nature of the problem, and an ETA. For most addresses in Brick Township, Toms River, Point Pleasant, and Lakewood, we arrive in under an hour. Further out in Belmar, Long Branch, or Manalapan we'll give you an honest time based on who's closest.
We test, trace, and identify the real cause of the problem before doing any work. Emergency calls are where shortcut diagnoses lead to repeat failures, so we don't skip steps.
Some emergencies can be permanently resolved on the first visit. Others need a temporary fix to make the house safe and a return visit for the permanent repair (panel replacements, service entrance work, anything requiring a permit and an inspection). We explain the difference clearly before doing either.
You get a written description of what we found and what we did before we leave. If additional work is recommended, we put it on paper with a real estimate so you can decide without pressure.

Don't fear, cam is here!

Have Questions?

We actually answer the phone at night and on weekends. The line goes directly to Chris or a licensed electrician on call, not a voicemail box or an answering service that takes your name and hopes to find someone in the morning.
For most addresses within 15 minutes of our Brick base, we can be on site inside an hour. Further distances take longer, but we give you a real ETA when we pick up the phone, not a guess.
If your whole neighborhood is out, it's JCP&L. If only your house is out and the service drop from the pole looks intact, it's almost always something inside your panel or service entrance, which is our job. When you're not sure, call us, we'll ask the right questions and tell you who to call.
We charge a diagnostic fee for emergency dispatch. That fee covers the trip and the diagnosis. If you hire us to do the repair, the diagnostic fee applies toward the repair cost. We tell you all of this upfront before we leave our shop.
If it resets and holds for a while, it's not an emergency, schedule a regular service visit. If it trips immediately when you reset it, or if the breaker or surrounding wiring is warm to the touch, that's a short circuit or an overload you can't ignore, call us now.
